Acoustic panels and dividers for more relaxing waiting areas

Portable Partitions provide a wide range of acoustic panels and dividers to improve the appearance and noise pollution of commercial and domestic spaces. They have been particularly popular in making waiting areas quieter and more aesthetically pleasing. Because let’s face it, who likes waiting?!

One of the primary benefits of acoustic panels is their versatility. In addition to enhancing sound quality, acoustic panels can also help to reduce background noise and improve overall comfort in a space.

Did you know that acoustic screens have also been welcomed in many home offices? By creating a functional home-working space, they have helped many home workers with their productivity levels – a much needed addition with the distractions of working from home!

‘They are not just a pretty face’ Or are they?!

While many people choose acoustic screens for their functional benefits, they can also serve as a decorative element. With a range of materials and styles available, it’s possible to find acoustic panels that complement any design aesthetic. And while supplied in a range of colours and sizes to improve the look of any waiting area, acoustic panels can dampen the noise created in an echoing space. Can you picture waiting to be called into an appointment, an interview or meeting and you’re whispering because you are conscious of others hearing you, or feeling a little anxious about being called through? I think we have all been there at some point! Overall, acoustic panels are a valuable investment for anyone looking to improve the acoustics of their space. Whether you’re seeking to reduce noise levels or enhance sound quality, these panels offer a practical and effective solution.

Our acoustic wall panels are made from a three-layer sound dampening system;

Layer One – this is made up of durable acoustic panel fabric. They can be supplied in a variety of colours to bring aesthetic charm to any space.

Layer Two – incredibly efficient at quieting noise within the home, the second layer of the acoustic panel is comprised of 100% recyclable non-woven polyester. This makes them entirely non-toxic and great for the environment!

Layer Three – made up of rigid mineral board honeycomb which serves to trap noise.

When sound waves hit the panel, they are absorbed by the core layer, which reduces the amount of sound that is reflected back into the room.

Which panels are right for you?

When it comes to acoustic panels, choosing the right one for your waiting area can make all the difference. With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. To help you make an informed decision, consider the following questions.

Firstly, identify your main acoustic goals. Are you looking to reduce echo, improve sound quality, or block out external noise? This will determine the type of panel you need.

Next, consider the aesthetics. Do you want your panels to blend in or make a statement? We offer a variety of colours, patterns, and shapes available to suit any preference.

Thirdly, assess how much wall space you have available. This will help determine the size and quantity of panels needed.

Lastly, determine your budget. Acoustic panels range in price depending on the material and quality. Determine how much you are willing to spend before making a decision.

By answering these questions, you can confidently choose the right acoustic panel for your space and achieve your desired acoustic results.

Portable Partitions offers a range of acoustic panels that reduces room noise, or separates the audio of a single space. And like acoustic wall panels, the acoustic room divider is also very effective at reducing noise levels. Customised to create comfortable and private waiting areas, they feature high-quality materials to enhance their sound-dampening properties. Plus, acoustic room dividers are often ‘tackable’, which means you can customise these panels with artwork, notes, displays, etc.
